ages 18-32 compete over the course of a week for $40,000 in prizes. A win can also spur future performance opportunities: Korean Yekwon Sunwoo, who won the inaugural competition in 2008, later toured Europe and played at New York’s Carnegie Hall. He returned to Orlando this year to perform with the Orlando Philharmonic.
